Celebration of the Independence of Colombia

On these days parades of regional schools are held. It is a colorful hustle and bustle. Traditions are accompanied by joyful music and dance. The festival takes place on the main street in Bajo Boquete and cannot be missed. 

27./28. November

Celebration of the Independence of Spain

The parades are now larger and attract around 60,000 people to Bajo Boquete. All regions present their schools, dances are performed, parades take place and at various food stalls the hunger of in between can be satisfied. On the eve, the 27.11. the festival is heralded by the "Bomberos". With torches they walk along the main street. 

8. December

Dia de la madre

Mothers receive gifts and are celebrated. Not everywhere this day is celebrated in the same way. In Horconcitos, the colorful horse parade is worth a visit during the day. A colorful hustle and bustle on the main street. Thereby one can eat traditionally on the spot. Drinks are also distributed from vehicles. 

17. - 26. December

Christmas

Christmas! A truly wonderful time. The main square is lavishly decorated and illuminated. Houses are decorated and Christmas music fills the air. The Christmas parade takes place around 17 December. The spectators are thrilled by the Grinch, cars with boots full of speakers, decorated vehicles, great brass and drum music, illuminated tracks and, of course, all the sweets that are handed out. 

January

Feria de las Flores y del Café

A blaze of color in Bajo Boquete! The flowers already shine from afar. Many handicrafts are offered next to woolen hats and many tasty things. There is also no lack of food. In the evening there is always a lot going on, the music plays and you enjoy the time with friends. 

January / February

Festival Folklorico International del Almojabano

A colourful festival that gives an insight into the culture of Panama. It has even been recognised as a UNESCO cultural heritage site. The polleras enchant not only the jury but every visitor. What craftsmanship! It takes the seamstress 6-12 months to make a dress. Plus wonderful jewellery. The hair jewellery is made from fish scales. Almojabanos - corn specialities filled with cheese - are served.

Feria David

It is a large trade exhibition. Garden areas are beautifully laid out and invite you to linger among the booths. Various food stalls bring enough opportunities for catering. From about 15.00 o'clock various activities follow. One experiences then from dance and music over animal auctions and machine demonstrations so much. A great festival on a spacious area.

Orchids Expo

Orchids are presented in a larger building in the Feria de las Flores y del Cafe. The festival is in a somewhat smaller setting. But very appealing and also not crowded by crowds. The program shows many different performances. There is also plenty to eat and drink.
